The article, “The magic paid video tribute to Dwight
Howard, which seems nuts but makes sense”, explains an interesting topic in the
real world and sport’s field. How to recognize the loyalty. That is a complex
issue whenever in two thousand years ago or ten years in future.
In
the article, the writer introduces that Magic makes a short video to memory
every former Magic player to celebrity Magic’s 25th annual ceremony.
However, Dwight, a former Magic’s all-star play, has different meaning for Orlando’s
fans. Howard who was the first pick in 2004 was selected by Magic. Then he
spent eight years in the east coast, and he bring the Magic into the 2009 NBA
finals. He also won three Defensive Player of the Year Awards in Magic, but, in
the end, he was liked the Magic’s last famous center, O’nell, asked for trade. Similarly,
he was transferred to Lakers. Then he joined Rocket in last summer. How can
fans feel about Dwight their former hero.
Consequently,
people always has the idea of loyalty. In the history book or novel, the hero
always loyal in one side. It is hardly a people who was called as hero always
change his position. However, in the modern city, there are much less war, but
people still have this imagine. Thus, they want this kind of people will appear
in the sport field. Notwithstanding, they omit the athlete also is ordinary people.
They just have some talent on sports. When the face career choice, they also
will consider some factor which like what ordinary people thinking. They
may think about family, environment and salary. Fans neglect some athlete who
were not an important consist part. They only focus on some cornerstone
players, but it is not fair to those players. Some athlete only have ten gold years
to earn the money. After they retire, they already full of injury in their
body. At that time, who will come to care about them.
As
my opinion, I understand players change the team and have higher salary. In additional, I respect some player never
changed the team in their professional life. They need to be respected because
it was so difficult for an athlete. Sometime even the athlete want to stay, the
team also will sell him for vary reasons.
May
be the fans are the last victim of player changing team, and they always don’t
want that become true. However, the real world is crude. As the title of this
article, time heals every wounds. Fans may not welcome the star who abandon
them, but after ten years or twenty years. I believe all kinds of these
negative can be got rid of. They will still remember the player who contribute
many positive to this team, to this city. Also, Howard said about that. Even
though he wanted to leave this team, but he still cherish the time of he played
in Orlando. He said he still hope Magic can be a powerful team again.
